Trust, documented.
How we check partners, how we disclose fees, the public facts on aviation privacy, and how we handle your data. Written down, so you can hold us to it.
What we check before an introduction.
We review the documents a provider gives us against public records. Each check is dated and repeated at least once a year.
Charter operators
FAA Part 135 certificate and operations specifications plus DOT economic authority (US), or a Transport Canada Air Operator Certificate and, where required, a Canadian Transportation Agency licence. Current insurance certificate. Whether the operator holds a current ARGUS, Wyvern or IS-BAO audit, and its date.
Charter brokers
That the broker works under US DOT 14 CFR Part 295, names the operating carrier in writing and states its own role, and only uses carriers with the right authority.
Maintenance and inspection
FAA Part 145, Transport Canada AMO or EASA Part-145 approval, with ratings and experience for the type. For a pre-buy, independence from the seller.
Brokers and dealers
State dealer registration where required, voluntary accreditation such as IADA where held, written listing or buyer agreements, and no deposits paid to the broker.
Escrow and title
An established aviation escrow and title agent, a written escrow agreement, and funds released only on the conditions in it.
Insurance and finance
Insurance producers licensed where they operate. Lenders and lessors that are regulated institutions.
Every counterparty
Screening against public sanctions lists (such as US OFAC and Canadian sanctions) and basic identity checks before an introduction.
ARGUS, Wyvern and IS-BAO are voluntary third-party safety standards. We record whether a provider holds a current audit and when it was done; we do not perform audits or certify anyone. Vetting is a documented check, not a guarantee: each provider remains responsible for its own work, licences and insurance, and you are welcome to see what we checked.
Every fee, on the page.
Clients should never have to wonder who is paid by whom. This is our written policy.
- Our fees are quoted in writing before work starts. Growth services have published prices; everything else is quoted per request.
- Referral fees. If a partner would pay us for an introduction, we tell you in writing before the introduction, including the amount or how it is calculated.
- No hidden mark-ups on partner quotes. A partner quote reaches you as the partner issued it.
- Insurance referrals are fixed-fee only where the law allows, and we never discuss coverage or premiums.
- Private Client mandates run on a written fee agreement that states how any referral fee is handled.
- No deposits. We never take deposits or hold client funds. Deposits go to an independent escrow agent.
What the public programs actually do.
Facts from the FAA and Transport Canada. Discuss any decision with your aviation counsel; we can introduce one.
LADD
The FAA Limiting Aircraft Data Displayed program filters an aircraft from FAA data feeds to participating flight-tracking services. It does not stop ADS-B broadcasts, which anyone nearby can receive directly.
PIA
The FAA Privacy ICAO Address program gives eligible US-registered aircraft with 1090 MHz ADS-B Out a temporary alternate ICAO address, used with a third-party call sign. Eligibility and airspace limits apply.
Registry withholding
Under 49 U.S.C. 44114(b), owners of US-registered aircraft used privately (not in common carriage or advertised for public hire) can ask the FAA to withhold their name and address from FAA websites. The signed request is filed through the FAA CARES system.
Owner trusts
US registration through a US-citizen owner trustee (14 CFR 47.7) is a lawful structure used for privacy and for non-US owners. It comes with real duties and scrutiny, so it is set up by aviation counsel and a trustee, never by us.
Canada
The Canadian Civil Aircraft Register is public and shows registered owner names and addresses. Structure options for Canadian aircraft are a question for your counsel.
Talk it through privately
Under NDA, we set out the options that fit your aircraft and introduce aviation counsel or a trustee to do the work.
Confidential intakeGeneral information, not legal advice. Programs change; check the current FAA and Transport Canada pages before relying on them.
Clear lines.
AeroSterling provides information, research, sourcing, coordination and marketing. These are the lines we do not cross.
- Not an aircraft broker or dealer, and we do not negotiate for either side
- Not an air carrier or charter operator, and we do not sell charter
- Not an escrow or title agent: we never hold funds, deposits or title
- Not a lender, lessor, insurer or insurance broker
- Not a maintenance organisation or appraiser
- Not a law firm or tax adviser
Less data, held carefully.
Encrypted and limited
Requests travel over HTTPS and are stored with our hosting provider, Cloudflare, which encrypts stored data. Access is limited to the person handling your request.
Minimum by default
Forms ask only for what the request needs. Code names are fine for private clients, and nothing confidential is needed before an NDA.
Shared only with consent
Details go to a partner only when you ask for an introduction, and only what that partner needs to respond.
Never sold, never published
We do not sell personal information and never publish client names, aircraft or deals.
No tracking cookies
This site uses no advertising or tracking cookies. We keep the country of a request, not your IP address.
Your rights
