In short. In Dubai, most business aviation uses Al Maktoum International (DWC), where several FBOs have private terminals; Dubai International (DXB) restricts business aviation during published peak windows. Every Dubai flight needs a slot and Dubai Civil Aviation Authority landing permission. Riyadh flights use King Khalid International, and Doha flights use Hamad International's premium terminal. Gulf to New York is about 5,700 to 6,000 nm, within reach of the newest ultra-long-range jets nonstop.
Dubai
Al Maktoum International (DWC) is Dubai's main business aviation airport. Jetex and Jet Aviation operate from the VIP terminal, ExecuJet runs its own terminal, and DC Aviation Al-Futtaim has its own facility. Flights need an Airport Coordination Limited slot and Dubai Civil Aviation Authority landing permission. Dubai International (DXB) restricts business aviation during several daily windows published in its conditions of use, and aircraft staying longer than 24 hours may have to reposition to DWC.
Abu Dhabi, Riyadh and Doha
- Abu Dhabi: Al Bateen Executive Airport is dedicated to business aviation; Zayed International also accepts business jets. Abu Dhabi to Farnborough is about 2,990 nm.
- Riyadh: King Khalid International (RUH) has business aviation handling, including a 24-hour Jet Aviation FBO. Saudi Arabia's regulator is GACA.
- Doha: Hamad International (DOH) has a dedicated premium terminal run by Qatar Executive; the old Doha International (DIA) is the base for maintenance and some business aviation operations. Qatar's QCAA issues landing permits for non-scheduled flights.
Flights to Europe and North America
Gulf to London or Geneva is a 6 to 7 hour trip for a long-range jet. Gulf to the US East Coast is about 5,700 nm (Riyadh) to 5,950 nm (Dubai) great-circle, which the newest ultra-long-range aircraft can usually do nonstop; on strong-headwind days, a fuel stop in Europe or Shannon may be planned. Who may legally fly you
As everywhere, ask for the operating carrier, its air operator certificate and the aircraft registration. EU operators currently follow EASA safety bulletins for routings in the region, which can lengthen some flights; your operator confirms the route on the day.
Our role. AeroSterling does not operate or sell flights and holds no air operator certificate. Through our charter request desk we pass your brief to independent, licensed operators and charter brokers that we vet, and they quote and contract with you directly, naming the operating carrier in writing.
Frequently asked questions
Which Dubai airport do private jets use?
Mostly Al Maktoum International (DWC) at Dubai South, where Jetex, Jet Aviation, ExecuJet and DC Aviation Al-Futtaim operate. DXB accepts business aviation outside its published restriction windows, with limited parking.
Do I need a permit to fly privately to Dubai, Riyadh or Doha?
Yes. Non-scheduled flights need landing permission from the relevant authority (for example the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority or Qatar's QCAA) and, where coordinated, an airport slot. The operator or handler files these; allow at least a few working days for charters.
Can I fly nonstop from Dubai to New York in a private jet?
Dubai to Teterboro is about 5,950 nm in a straight line. That is within the published range of the newest ultra-long-range jets, but winds and payload decide whether a given day works nonstop.
How long is a private flight from Dubai to London?
Dubai Al Maktoum to Farnborough is about 2,990 nm, roughly 6.5 to 7 hours depending on aircraft and routing.
